During thе dаy, thе sun heаts thе Eаrth's surfаce, аnd аt night, аs thе surfаce cools, it releаses heаt bаck intо thе аir. Вut sоme оf this heаt is trарped by greenhоuse gаses in thе аtmosphеrе.

Тhere аre multiplе different greenhоuse gаses, inсluding cаrbon diоxide (CО2), methаne (СH4), nitrous оxide (N2О), wаter vаpоur (H2O), аnd оzоne (O3). Effects of climate change

2. Poverty. Climate change exacerbates the factors that cause and perpetuate poverty. For example, floods sweep away slums, homes, and livelihoods. This can displaces millions of people in India and around the world. 

3. Food. Changes in the climate will make it harder to produce food in the future, especially livestock. Heat stress can lead to water and grassland depletion, resulting in reduced crop yields and negative effects on livestock.

4. Storms. Throughout the world, destructive storms are increasing in intensity and frequency. Rising temperatures lead to increased moisture evaporation, causing extreme weather events and heavier rainfall, flooding, and so on. The warming of the oceans are also affecting cyclones, hurricanes, and typhoons by making them stronger.

5. Droughts. A changing climate can affect the availability of water, especially in places that are already water-stressed. Droughts can affect crops, ecosystems, and people in harmful ways. Additionally, droughts can lead to destructive sand and dust storms, causing deserts to expand and agricultural land to shrink. 

Causes of climate change

Our contribution to climate change is complicated. Our indigenous habits continue to be climate friendly but rapid westernisation and urbanisation are slowly eroding these habits.
